Now that we have Christmas & New Year out of the way, we are concentrating on organising this years fishing trips to visit our club sponsor Kevin Murphy in Ireland. Those who have already visited the Bella-Vista have expressed their desire to return and sample the fantastic fishing and hospitality that was afforded to them on their last visit. The fishing in and around Cork Harbour is quite simply brilliant, and there is plenty of interest from our club members and guests wishing to sample it first hand.
Both myself & the committee are in the process of arranging some "Angling in Ireland" evenings in the clubhouse, where we will be giving a presentation and showing DVD's and photographs on what the area and the Bella Vista have to offer. Anyone with an interest in fishing in this beautiful part of the world is invited to attend and believe you me, you will not be disappointed!
Cobh
The island of Cobh is quite simply a unique place to visit. The area is steeped in history with strong links to the "Titanic" and White Star Line. The islands cathedral took 52yrs to build and is breathtakingly beautiful from the outside, but once inside it is absolutely incredible. I would strongly advise anyone who goes to Cobh to visit this magnificent building.
Of course the friendly and pleasant nature of the locals is there for all to witness, and the atmosphere in the town is really down to earth. After a good days fishing you can enjoy a good meal in the hotel restaurant and take in the fantastic views overlooking Cork Harbour. If you fancy a pint or two then you can relax in the comfort of the hotel bar and chat about the one that got away. Alternatively, you can take a stroll into the town for a bit of shopping or a relaxing pint of guinness. Whatever you choose to do, just relax and enjoy what Cobh has to offer.
